Bermuda sits in the middle of the Atlantic. Weather here is not a background detail. It shapes how people move, what they plan, whether boats go out, whether flights land.
The tools that existed were either generic global forecasts that treated the island like any other dot on a map, or bare government feeds with no context. Neither matched how much weather actually matters to daily life on a 21-square-mile island.
Bermuda needed a weather platform that understood the island, not one that was adapted to it after the fact.

The core of Wopnin is a three-tier consensus engine. Instead of trusting a single weather source, it pulls from 13+ providers: METAR airport observations, Open-Meteo numerical forecasts, NOAA tide predictions, NDBC ocean buoy data, NHC tropical outlooks, the Bermuda Weather Service, and several commercial APIs.
When sources disagree, the engine resolves the conflict and produces a single authoritative forecast rather than passing the confusion along to the user.
The personality layer is what makes it feel like a Bermuda product. Conditions are distilled into 22 named vibes: Bermuda Bliss, Storm Watch, Sun Blaze, and others. Each vibe triggers animated canvas backdrops that shift in real time. Forecast narration comes in four tones: Professional, Snarky, Unhinged, and Existential.
It is weather with a voice, not a data table.

Coverage goes well beyond temperature and rain. Wopnin reports marine and reef conditions, tropical storm tracking with NHC integration, and aviation weather for pilots and operations teams.
It is installable as a PWA on both iOS and Android, and it was designed to run as an always-on display: a fridge screen, a mounted tablet, a dashboard that never sleeps.
Technical stack: React PWA with multi-source data fusion, three-tier consensus engine, animated Canvas backdrops, and a service worker with network-first strategy for offline resilience.

Wopnin is live and serving Bermuda with weather intelligence that no generic platform can match.
The consensus engine has proven reliable enough to become the foundation for IsleCast, a multi-tenant SaaS product that will bring the same approach to every Caribbean island.
Revenue comes from title sponsorships, vibe-linked business sponsorships, push notification slots, Stripe premium subscriptions, and an API marketplace for developers building on top of the data.
